| 1199697 | 2011-05-05 18:47:00 | A fairly common problem seems to occur where external hard drives are connected, the power light is on, but the drive does not work. I had this problem and spent ages trying to find answers. The first thing to try is obvious:- make sure the power lead is pushed in securely in the back of the hard drive. If it still does not work, try another power adaptor. I did, and my ext hard drive now works. May not always do the trick, but worth trying !! |

| 1199698 | 2011-05-05 21:16:00 | You may find that the 1st power adaptor is ok and the ext drive was enabled by disconnecting and reconnecting the power, causing a reset. Worthwhile trying the 1st adaptor again to prove, rather than scrap it. Or try it with a different device. |
