1165752 2010-12-30 21:40:00 Another random question from me :p

I am working on another pump and I need to get some new leathers for it.

They are 2" (5cm) dia and each leather is just over 1/2" making the whole assembly 1 1/4" long

Does anyone know where I could buy new leathers from? Apparently Paykels engineering sell them but I couldn't find any on their site. I also need to get some gland packing (cheap) Paykels DO sell that, but at price!

You might not be able to see from the pic but the current leathers are pretty worn so I can't even attempt to salvage them. :annoyed:

Cheers!

Have replaced a few of those in my days (water pumps)

If you are in Auckland,Puke may be your best bet

1165754 2010-12-30 22:07:00 I'm in wellington, used to install dairy equipment, irrigation and flood drainage equipment in whakatane, I don't know who our supplier was, probably some wholesaler in Auckland.

I'll try find a pumping workshop in wellington but I don't know if they will have what I need since most of them service small centrifugal or multistage pumps rather than piston pumps.

I'll contact the guys up at whakatane and see who the supplier was/is and whether they will ship to wellington

1165756 2010-12-30 22:23:00 How would brake master or slave cylinder cups go? Worked on my garden shrub sprayer. There are all sizes listed in the brake cup catalogue. BobM (1138)
1165757 2010-12-30 22:52:00 I think the rubber would wear too quickly on cylinder cups.

I'll have a look at jameswalker, they could be good

Cheers

1165761 2010-12-31 01:14:00 You could try condor in petone, their deal with pumps. Not sure what sort of pumps.
