1459800 2019-04-07 20:31:00 Anyone used this? Comments? Tony (4941)
1459801 2019-04-07 20:59:00 Know of it, don't use it much myself, but is good if you are needing to jump from say different spreadsheets and dont have the monitor space to go side by side. BUT its also got another option, called timeline, if at a persons place and they say we didn't go to ??? Sites you can soon tell, as it shows all activity. Can be disabled if you want. wainuitech (129)
1459802 2019-04-07 22:01:00 Yes, I'm the same - know about it but have never used it. I was reading an article and it piqued my curiosity. I'm not sure I have much need for it either, but it seems a useful facility.
Timeline is a bit different though, isn't it? More of an analogue to browser history, where you can go back and pick up old stuff? I've never used that either.

Its handy if you went to some web site, then a few days or weeks later you wanted to go back but cant remember where it was. :) OR as I use it for customers - See where they have been if required, often get -- Don't remember going to any particular site where I may have picked up <insert problem> ;)

AND programs like ccleaner or disk cleanup don't remove the history, you have to manually turn it off in the settings if you don't want it.

1459804 2019-04-07 22:47:00 I use browser history all the time - I was talking about never having used timeline. Tony (4941)
1459805 2019-04-08 06:27:00 I tried virtual desktops in Windows 10 recently and I quite like them. I have just two desktops set up, one for virtually everything and the other when I run Kodi full screen. It's easy to just switch from Kodi to my main desktop and back again when needed. This is the first time multiple desktops seem to really work in Windows. Some years ago in a previous desktop PC I had an Nvidia graphics card and the driver had the ability to have multiple desktops but they constantly caused crashes back then in Windows XP.

Coming from a Linux perspective I'm used to virtual desktops and usually have four set up. My main desktop has Chrome and most other stuff there and I keep my email app (Thunderbird) open in another one. The other two I use for Kodi and just a spare desktop for miscellaneous.

That's an interesting way to go. I might give it a try.

1459807 2019-04-08 06:53:00 I tend to just fill up my three monitors on desktop and forget about the feature on my laptop. pcuser42 (130)
1459808 2019-04-08 08:01:00 I’d go spare without virtual desktops! fred_fish (15241)
1459809 2019-04-08 22:12:00 I guess I mustn't be much of a multitasker but I never saw any value in virtual desktops over simple alt tabbing or multiscreen setups. dugimodo (138)
