1459740 2019-04-03 04:32:00 I had 3 email accounts: name@inet.net.nz, name @snap.net.nz, name@gmail.com. inet, was the original company, later taken over by Snap, and inet was an alias for snap, Snap has since been taken over by 2 degrees.

The gmail account is to circumvent the ridiculously small mail box. I have cancelled the inet account with snap, to eliminate spam. Unfortunately the inet shows up whenever I open Outlook. I want to remove it from the listing, but the help directions don't help because under account settings only snap and gmail are listed.

I use Win10, and Outlook 2010.

can anyone help?

1459741 2019-04-03 04:44:00 Give this a crack-- Open the Control Panel you can click in search, type in Control and it will show -- (NOT setting in W10) In the large icon view look for Mail -- Open it, Email account, select the account if its there - Remove.

This shows Outlook 2016 but 2010 is exactly the same:

1459742 2019-04-03 20:30:00 Thanks Wainuitech, but it doesn't work because the Email account that I want to remove isn't listed. This screen is the same as I got to from Outlook. Brucem (8688)
1459743 2019-04-03 21:48:00 Since inet was an alias for snap try right clicking the inet account - Delete. If its not actually showing in the list then you have to manually remove it from your online snap account. wainuitech (129)
1459744 2019-04-04 04:47:00 The inet account is listed when Outlook is open. Right clicking brings up a list with "Close name@inet.net.nz" is greyed out. I also tried to remove individual folders, hoping that if this was done, the account could be closed; this didn't work either. Brucem (8688)

Can you supply some screen shots of the previous Window where the accounts are (blocking your name of course) There's something "Different" or linked somehow.

Whats been provided is the std settings. Not using / Used Microsoft Exchange are you ?

1459746 2019-04-04 19:12:00 The other thing you can have a look at is in the window where the account should be, click on the Data Tab, if its there, 1st highlight it, then click on open location - make a copy of the file and put it somewhere safe. Once copied, then remove it.

If its not there, or wont remove then somehow its still linked into another account.

The reason for creating a backup is sometimes if you remove the files, outlook throws its toys and wont open as its looking for the data file, so this way you can put it back.

1459747 2019-04-05 03:37:00 I tried both of your suggestions, but neither worked. I have attached screenshots. The second worked but I could not open Outlook until I restored the file.95309531 Brucem (8688)
