1458809 2019-03-09 14:46:00 Hi. I am using Windows 10Pro x64 v1809 and use Edge Browser. What I am getting are a row of squares that show the sites I have open in Edge Browser. Its a PITA because it is using a good piece of Screen to have them up there. When I used FFox or Google all that there was up there was a thin row of tabs that I could click to go to a opened site. Now I have about a fifth or a sixth of screen is filled with a row of these 'tabs' so consequently I have to scroll down on an open page to see more of what is there, like a picture for instance... it isn't shown full size and if I try to center it to take a snipping tool image the top of the picture I want goes out of screen at the top, below these 'tabs'
How can they be made smaller?...a strip a quarter inch height would be great instead of the inch and a quarter/inch and a half that they are . The 'tabs' are mini versions of the webpage/s that I have open.

Thanks in advance.

Garry

1458811 2019-03-09 19:15:00 Do what Gary said. It may also pay you to have a read through the Edge tips which are provided. Edge is getting pretty good for most things now but like any tool it helps if you know how to use it. CliveM (6007)
1458812 2019-03-09 21:14:00 The 'tabs' are mini versions of the webpage/s that I have open. That's exactly what they are, preview of the page in that Tab. If you have a lot of tabs open, its often hard to remember what page they actually are, sometimes the wording isn't always plain. So a preview is shown. As Gary posted click the inverted V to bring back to normal.

There's Lots of small alterations being added with each build, nothing like the big jump in layout like W7 to W8, and many don't even know they are there, just minor changes.

Here's another that most people don't know about,-- Open several pages in tabs, then you can temp hide them ( EXAMPLE: lets say someone comes in and you don't want them to see what tabs you have open), and open more if you wish. Click the button shown below to hide.

To get them back, click the small windows to the left of the first, and click restore Tabs.

Another that can be useful is able to draw, add notes, highlight certain pieces in A Site, scribbling on a web page :)

Thanks for all the info. With your advice and that of others I think I will get a hold of it. I can also let a FB Friend of mine in Uruguay who was having trouble with Google last night know about the things to do. I suggested she use Edge and she had never used it before and said about the large tabs. . Hard for me to do anything in TeamViewer because her W10 is in Spanish. The pics and pointers suppled by all are a great help

Thanks

1458817 2019-03-10 04:34:00 Hard for me to do anything in TeamViewer For future referance, another feature all W10's have, remote control access built in.

All you need is a Microsoft email address ( to sign in)

From the search (or Windows Key + S) type in QUICK, select quick assist, you'll get this:
9415

For the person GIVING the assistance, you need to sign in to your MS account (its free) you then give the number to the person needing help, the rest of the prompts are obvious what to do when you sign in, allow etc. Example, they will get a message along the lines of "Allow insertyourname to control your computer"

Normally I'm on the phone when giving the number, but you can send it various other ways (email) The person at the other end has 10 minutes to enter the code other wise it expires (security reasons) BUT once connected you can stay connected for as long as you like.

The session only lasts for the time connected so you cant set it to get remote access unattended.
