1462389	2019-08-13 11:51:00	One of the Microsoft Support scammers called me, once. Sadly, I was in a hurry and didn't have time to mess with him. It suspect it might have been fun to feign stupidity, especially in Linux. He said his little introduction: "I'm Suresh Patel from Microsoft Technical Support" I snickered condescendingly and replied "No." He hung up. Haven't had one since. I feel a bit left out. They're not fun, they're either onto your plot quickly and hang up or it's so boring cause they're so thick. I had one a long time ago, and had just finished a fresh install, so when asked to go and look at all my event viewer errors I had none. LOL. But it wasn't that great, I was transferred to "senior techs" as they tried to comprehend such a thing and number 3 just abandoned the effort.	piroska (17583)

1462395	2019-08-13 22:48:00	They've started giving themselves Kiwi sounding names now. Their reaction is hilarious if you say there's 30,000 warnings in Event Viewer, oh my GOD, oh my GOD. They are usually pretty thick and don't twig until after an hour or so, worth messing with if you have patience and an hour to kill. A form of paypack for all the ones they conned.	Beav (17610)
1462396	2019-08-14 01:51:00	Back in my day, if a call came into the Spark network, the originating network had to pay a "call termination fee". Maybe Spark and all the other local PSTN networks are making some money out of these scams and are not fussed about stopping them.	decibel (11645)

Then block all calls from within NZ, as there have been NZ based scammers Better block US, Aus, UK as well, just in case . Next , to get prosecutions in these overseas backwaters, you'll need to offer bigger bribes to all those overseas local authorities , bribes bigger than than the money the scammers are making. 1462398	2019-08-14 02:36:00	Some do offer a semi legit service They sign you up for a PC maintenance contract , load remote access software , and every x months go in & do some ~maintenance~ and kiwi's do sign up for this ~service~ . Its shocking how many fall for these scams , not just the ederly . Stringing them along , the only time you're wasting is your own . They'll just go onto the next call , you wont have had any affect on them .	1101 (13337)
