I presume it should have a sticker on it :(

It does not :(
It's been a while since I thought about doing this. Work and being sick got in the way.

1461758 2019-07-10 03:09:00 Are you going to reinstall Win7 or just go for Win10? Bryan (147)
1461759 2019-07-10 04:59:00 I only have win 7 disk........... ??? beetle (243)
1461760 2019-07-10 05:07:00 I only have win 7 disk........... ??? Windows 7 & 8 keys still activate Windows 10, did one yesterday, the W8 key was embedded in the Motherboard and w10 picked it up, didn't even offer to put another in OR simply keep using W7. wainuitech (129)
1461761 2019-07-10 05:09:00 oh well im fine with win 7................... :o beetle (243)
1461762 2019-07-10 05:16:00 As you have a legitimate WIN7 product key, even if it is OEM you can install WIN10. You need to go to Microsoft and download from the Microsoft media creation tool the ISO program. All you need to know is should you download 32bit or 64bit. I would suggest 64bit. You will be asked if you want to update the PC you are downloading too or save to apply to another PC later. Select save to apply to another PC later. Once the ISO has downloaded, burn to a DVD.

Use the DVD to do a clean install on your PC. It will ask for a product key (you use the Windows7 key) and the install will complete. The Windows7 key will become the permanent key and is buried in the motherboard. There are other threads on PF1 (mostly from WainuiTech) if you want to verify what I have said. You do not need to install Windows7 first, just use the product key.

1461763 2019-07-10 05:21:00 I see from #28 that you propose to use Win7. By the time you update all the updates and upgrades, you could be looking at days to get the PC up and running. Also it won't be long before Microsoft will no longer be supporting Win7. Of course, your call. Bryan (147)
