2019-03-22 00:07:00 | I stopped the Duplicate Displays and now just have display on this 1 monitor (the HP that had the problem the other day ). It is beginning to look to me that there is a problem in the AMD 2400G - APU graphics....maybe... just a thought. Or the MBoard ..or... ..:badpc:

2019-03-22 00:22:00 | OR the Drivers. Suggestion - TOTALLY remove the Graphic Drivers, then either get new ones from The manufacture or run windows updates and allow them to come through. NOW removing the drivers TOTALLY is not just a case of uninstalling, as the Std Uninstaller only gets a fraction of them. Download and run (in safe mode) DDU its a little confusing to locate sometimes but if you go HERE FOR DOWNLOAD (www.wagnardsoft.com), scroll down the page on the left under the Orange sign "Official Download Here" This program rips the drivers and all signs of then completely out. Once it starts just let it do its thing.

2019-03-22 01:16:00 | Cause of the atikmpag.sys BSOD is AMD driver, so it explains in this link appuals.com ahhhhhhhhhhh kaka!!! its a bloody ad for Reimage Driver!!! Just like the previous one was for download and use Driver Easy...… yeah yeah yeah...it does it all but doesn't do eff all to repair unless we 'Validate' the app ($$$$$) I read the comments and see what I can glean from the ones that are not blatantly thumbs up BS to sell the app. Another link I read said to go to Windows\system32\drivers and locate the file atikmpag.sys and rename it atikmpag.sys.old and dload new one and replace it. well there no file by that name I the System32\drivers folder on my computer. Also it said to look for it in C:\ATI bit that does not exist on my computer, I used Search and it said doesn't exist. The link also said to go to CMD and enter chdir desktop and CMD prompt said "The system cannot find the path specified" Seems there's a few things missing. Hmmmmmmmmm Maybe I need driver updates but Device Manager informs me that the best are installed.

2019-03-22 01:49:00 | wainuitech .just an afterthought, and probably a stupid one but these things happen at times,,,, I assume that when I uninstall the Graphics Drivers I will get an image on Monitor?? | kioti (17360) | |
2019-03-22 02:13:00 | wainuitech…….just an afterthought, and probably a stupid one but these things happen at times,,,, I assume that when I uninstall the Graphics Drivers I will get an image on Monitor?? Yep you'll still get an image, it will just be running of the Windows Basic Driver that comes with Windows 10, same one as before the drivers were originally installed (from fresh install). Personally I'd un-install the drivers using DDU, ( as mentioned DDU - rips out everything, where as a normal Un-install doesn't, leaving pieces behind) here's a direct link to the exe www.wagnardsoft.com once it reboots then run the windows update, let it download the drivers, they come directly from the manufacture (AMD) anyway. Let them install, see if you have the same problems. Sometimes what you think are the right drivers don't always work as they should. Had that happen on a couple of PC's, checked and double checked on manufactures site - Yep, but when windows installed via updates they were different, AND actually worked.

I will tell her that I will be offline for a hour or 3 doing some things. I have DL'd the DDU v 18.0.0.9 version of the app and will unzip it and get it doing its work asap. I used a Driver Updater app to do a scan of my computer Drivers and have here a pic I will attach that shows the 14 outdated Drivers that it said it will update, but for it to do that I have to buy the app. Fair enough I suppose but I prefer to do a manual Search and install. …. I am also planning to email ASUS and explain to them about the issues I am having with the G Skill DDR4 2933MHz RAM not running at stated speed. I understand what wainuitech and dugimodo have said re the RAM running stock as 2400MHz but I would like to get it running at 2933 MHz. wainuitech, I DL'd the QVL for ASUS Mobo I have and the G Skill 2933 MHzRAM I have is listed in it but it is not the same version. the listed one is F4-2933C14Q-32GFX. So have to wait for replies from ASUS. I Settled for the 2933MHz because the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G does not run anything above that it states in the Specs for the APU. Here is the pic of the outdated Drivers. Yep The AMD Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics are out of date it informs me. |

2019-03-22 17:52:00 | wainuitech Ok I have used the DDU app to remove the drivers for both the AMD 2400G and the AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU. I then downloaded and installed the Driver for the 2400G APU and at the end Device Manager shows that the Driver/s for the RX 580 GPU card have been installed as well yet I didn't search the AMD Sie for the driverts for that device. I will leave as is for the time being and see what happens over bext few avs Thanks Garry\ Here are a few attachments showing what was done.

2019-03-23 01:51:00 | wainuitech….ahhh I didn't run Windows update after removing drivers using DDU a as you suggested in here " Personally I'd un-install the drivers using DDU, ( as mentioned DDU - rips out everything, where as a normal Un-install doesn't, leaving pieces behind) here's a direct link to the exe www.wagnardsoft.com once it reboots then run the windows update, let it download the drivers, they come directly from the manufacture (AMD) anyway. I will leave is as is for now and use what I installed of the DL from AMD site. See how that pans out. Cheers

2019-03-23 09:51:00 | Hi and I have some news that is good and wish to show some pics of the Driver instals I had done since I completed the New rig I have. It will probably explain/show where the errors in performance originated. First up: I am glad to say that since I did as wainuitech suggested and removed the existing drivers and renewed them, my computer is purring excellently. It has not had any Screen shuddering when massive guns fire and trucks explode in the game Sniper Elite 4. The computer has been running 14 hours today and has been silent as a mouse. No BSOD's gathering info to send to MS and Restarts to repair itself. I have had no screen freezes happening and then the Freeze ups...and I have watched a movie played in computer and fed to TV via HDMI, the movie was The Insider, Pacino and Crowe and Graphics is excellent. I am running Duplicate Display mode at a resolution of 1680x1050 (Recommended) That is the Res set for the HP Monitor. I could have the RX580 running as single display but for some reason I cannot change the Res at all. Maybe it needs its independent driver installed because at the moment it is using a driver that presumably is one that was installed when I installed the New driver last night for the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G. I think that the 2400G was running the AMD driver for it that was installed from MS shortly after I got the rig running approx. 6 weeks ago, it did not have the RX580 GPU until the 4th/5th March. So perhaps the issues were started when I downloaded and installed a driver for the 2400G that I had gotten from AMD Drivers site. Here are some pics. So I am happy with the way things are now and will leave all as is.
