| 1462339 | 2019-07-14 22:20:00 | We have 2 breads here, Vogels for my mum and my home made stuff for us. Neither can be toasted properly on one toast cycle. Been through heaps of toasters, the best was a DeLonghi, got a display model cheaper cause it wasn't a cheap toaster. I read heaps and heaps of user reviews before getting this one. I think this is because of how they make shop bread, on the rare occasions that stuff has been in a toaster, it burns in no time. Ours, full browning, takes 2 goes and is just golden. I find you can see down in the slots to check if you lean over.....don't burn your nose... But yes, push it down, the timer starts over.....and it's not a mechanical timer, husband took the last one apart to see if he could modify it, nope, it's nothing but a circuit board and some elements. |

It'd be entirely possible to replace the control circuit and switch with a microcontroller-based intelligent timer and a relay if you were keen, to get that sort of feature, if you really wanted it, but I find that kind of thing is largely unnecessary, once you get a feel for your toaster and the approximate time that various types of breads take to toast, it's easy to predict the right setting anyway. |
