1459286 2019-03-20 21:40:00 It'll be unlucky if it won't go to 2933, but that might be the case as Wainui says. However you did pick exactly what most people reccomend for Ryzen being the FlareX RAM so I would have expected it to work.
In contrast I bought SniperX 3200 which turned out to be not on my motherboards list and not really recommended for AMD systems but I still got it stable at 2933. But mine is an X470 board so that might be the difference.

XMP is apparently also called DOCP on some AMD systems, see if that's in the UEFI settings somewhere. I looked into the manual but it doesn't go into enough detail for me to find the setting for you.
Maybe the memory frequency drop down has a DOCP option? There will be a way to enable it, you just have to find what it's called and where Asus hid it.

Here's the issue with setting it manually, you can't just change the RAM clock speed you also have to adjust the timings and possibly voltage. Which is complicated and frankly beyond me, which is why I stick with XMP/DOCP which is manufacturer certified. My RAM for example uses a different voltage at 2133 than at 2933/ 3200

I feel like I really went down the rabbit hole with mine trying to make it work at 3200, there is a tool someone created for calculating optimum timing settings for your RAM on a ryzen system and it took me hours of head scratching to even figure out how to use the tool, then the settings didn't work for me anyway. Here's the tool but be warned this is not simple stuff www.techpowerup.com

What I ended up doing on mine was turning on XMP to get all the standard settings for 3200, then dropping just the clock speed to 2933 without touching anything else.

1459287 2019-03-21 08:13:00 Now that we have the right Board :) Its quite easy to explain without getting to technical.

If you look at the Specs Anything above 2666 is Over Clocking (O.C.) What the manufactures do is set the speeds so when running within them (non Over Clocking) they are stable, When over clocking it can make the whole thing go unstable, resulting in all sorts of problems.

So while it is listed as going to 3200, expect problems and instability. Sometimes they bring out BIOS updates that will fix these problems sometimes its for other functions.

hi and thanks for the info. So basically I am OCing the RAM by setting it to run above 2666MHz. hmm. cool, cheers.
I was thinking maybe a BIOS update may be required, but I am a big bit loathe to do that having had a bad result 10 year ago when I was building the rig I had and I was trying to get the BIOS updated to run the 64 BIT AMD Athlon II X4 630 Quad core I had, and I had a Gigabyte MB and used one of the two BIOS Update facilities that are supplied in the Gigabyte Easy Update Bios or something like that. Well when saw what it had found as the BIOS update I thought, That's the Chipset drivers, but did it anyway and that MB Never came to life again. So I bought a newer MB. I made a thread on it way back when it happened.
Now today, I have the computer lock up twice in the past 2 hours, I had about 5-6 browser tabs open and clicked one to go to it and the computer kinda growled, the screen froze, and then I goy the pale blue screen wuth white text reading " Yu computer has developed a problem and needs to restart. We are gathering some information and will restart soon."...… well it restarted, opens to Sign in and all is ok.
Now as I have 16GB of fastish DDDR4 then there shouldn't be a problem with having 6+ Browser tabs open IMHO. However...…..
So as this has happened, I am of the mind to go and reset the RAM to run at 2400 because the Rig had been running without any issues until I upped the RAM speed.
I will have to look into all the HW I am running and make sure that it is all compatible. Something seems awry to me.

I will look into the supported memory for ASUS from the link you supplied. Perhaps I need a new MB that can get the RAM running at 2933 or 2800 …...perhaps.
I will do some delving and research
As for the now?, I am going to reset the RAM to 2400

cheers

Garry.
