1459238 2019-03-20 04:36:00 I'd expect a screenshot to come out right because the image isn't being corrupted just the display if that makes any sense.
Or to put it another way, what you see with your eyes is not what the PC thinks it's outputting or what the snip tool records.
You'd need to use a camera to get a photo of the colour issue.

dugimodo, thanks for that. It makes sense.

1459239 2019-03-20 07:40:00 You could have tried the age old advanced technician skill known as "jiggling it" sometimes they just work loose :)
There are even more advanced techniques worth learning, such as turning it off and back on again and it extreme cases giving it a thump.

Then there are the questions you only ask yourself and never divulge the answers to:
Am I pushing the right button?, is it turned on at the back/wall?, is the monitor connected to the right graphics card?, did I connect the power to the graphics card? and such like. :devil

1459240 2019-03-21 09:40:00 dugimodo :D yeah. I forgot about the finer points & tricks of the trade. The cable into the monitor may just have wiggled out a little by my moving the monitor or rummaging about on the table looking for tabac/papers/lighter/filters... the important stuff that gets buried under things. Yeah is most strange but is good that the HP returned to full screen and colour when I reconnected it to the 'old' cable. Its like me, I saw my doctor on Tuesday re: blood test results and he informed me that I will not have to go on the treatment for the blood disease I had because I have cleared myself of it. Miraculously, I do not need to be given the $20K treatment for free to clear the 'disease' that 8 year ago was discovered I have had for 20//40 years.
Have a good day

Cheers

Garry.

1459241 2019-03-21 12:24:00 Right oh...having said what I did before about resetting the RAM to 2400MHz, I did and an hour ago it froze again. That bluescreen saying that the PC has developed a problem and needs to restart. Gathering some info and restarting. The Stop Code was VideoVDL and something else I didn't get to see because the comp shut down and restarted.
Also I mentioned that it made a kind of growl sound...more like a grating sound, something rubbing and it had frozen the screen. Right, NOW I am hearing sounds like vibrating/something making a sound as if its bubbling intermittently....bubble/grate/like a sound of something being dragged up stairs...kinda…
Well I trying to locate the sound and the only moving parts inside the computer are the Wraith Spire CPU Fan, the two fans on the RX580 GPU and the fan on the Corsair PSU. I stop the CPU fan and still have the 'sounds', I place hands on the PSU and cant feel any vibration nor can I hear anything inside the PSU if I use a screwdriver to place on PSU Case and t ear. The RX580 GPU is not running...well the fans aren't spinning and the computer is set to duplicate screens and there is image on the TV from it. So what the hell is causing the 'sounds'? I ask myself...…………………
Now, all 'sounds' have stopped...about 5 mins ago it sounded like a concrete mixer making the concrete....a hard sound to explain.
Something is definitely not right with this Rig I have yet it was well a couple days ago.
in the past week or so I have had the screen image shudder 5 seconds before a Great Gun on a Railway Bridge fired I would hear a metallic sound as if loading the gun/closing the breach of it and then 5 seconds later when gun fired the screen image would quick shudder for about 250ms.... I not remember it doing that before.... and now today its even worse! I go up to place satchel charge on tanks etc/ Any thing I have to destroy and even when I shoot the gas tank on a truck and it explodes, the screen shudders. Well it wasn't doing any of that two week ago...it has happened in the past week and last night/today it was severe! I don't think its a special effect for the game because I didn't see it happening weeks ago :D :(
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrr! RAM doesn't make 'grating' sounds as far as I know...…….nor does a CPU/APU. There are no mechanical HDD's inside the computer and the optic drive is not spinning at all because it is not in use.
I bang me head against the wall and hit the hay.

Goodnight

cheers
Garry.

Yep...…..the computer is now dead silent! Ohh wonderful. I won't think the storm has passed.

1459242 2019-03-21 20:05:00 Theres only a few things that spin in a PC.

1. Fans - CPU,PSU, Graphic Cards, Case Cooling fans
2. Hard Drive discs (if mechanical)
3. A CD/DVD left in the Optical Drive (seen this happen many times) including my own in the workshop, wondered where the whirring was coming from every so often.

On the rare occasion it can be the speakers, one way to test that is when its doing it, simply pull out the speaker plug from the PC effectively disconnecting them (assuming they are separate Speakers and not inbuilt) if they are inbuilt Mute them.

As for the fans not spinning on the graphic Card, don't worry about it, built many a Gaming PC and the fans wont start to spin up until the temp increases to a point it needs to cool it.

Its hard Sometimes but when its doing it you have to get your head close (without getting caught up in fans) and try to track down what area its coming from.

The Crash -- Normally Id say look at the DMP files they will tell you whats caused the crash, you need software to read them.

BUT just found a online option from MS, no idea if it works or how long it takes, home.diagnostics.support.microsoft.com click on Windows Memory Dump Collector - Follow the instructions.

thanks. Yep I be listening carefully to all parts of the Computer. There aren't many of them. The PC case is laying flat on table with the left side panel removed. Primarily because I haven't added the internal case cooling fans (yet). Gives me quick access to it as well should I need to, like sticking a finger on CPU fan to stop it spinning, etc:nerd:
I used the link you supplied to get the DMO file/s sent to MS for analysis and will have to wait for their verdict.
The computer I have only started again 20 minutes ago, and it is as it was last night before I went shut it down, as quiet as a mouse.
I add some pics that I took of the DMSDP. Unfortunately it didn't allow me to save a copy.

cheers

1459245 2019-03-21 21:06:00 Theres also a couple of basic programs that will read the DMP files, Bluescreen View and Whocrashed. Both described www.raymond.cc

troubleshooter.xyz

I personally use the Windows debugger, but haven't got it installed in anything at the moment, its very detailed but can be tricky to work correctly. :)

wainuitech, thanks. I will link into the links you supplied.
I may get the Windows debugger. Might have to do some reverse engineering :nerd:
