| 1459171 | 2019-03-17 00:32:00 | Hi All W10 . 64GB D drive Chip. This external memory drive D is almost ful, less than 1GB empty. I see that File History takes up 11.4 GB. What is it for? Can I delete it, if that is possible. Thanks. PJ |

| 1459174 | 2019-03-17 06:48:00 | I was assuming this was a drive you were saving or backing up to. You should be able to access it & have a look at the contents or were you using a backup program to write to it? |

I am trying to get spare room out of it & 11.4 would be good. But I dont know what is in File History Nor where it is to see what I can deletr if anything. Both C & D are Backed Up. PJ |

On the next screen you can choose things to delete or click the "clean up system files" button - I think file history is under that but I can't go any farther on this pc due to restricted access so I'm not sure what comes next, should be fairly obvious I hope. | dugimodo (138) | ||

I followed this thro to disc cleanup for D drive. however it still shows i have 11.4GB in file history & no extra space in "Free Spce", omly 20.1MB Still. PJ |

| 1459179 | 2019-03-17 21:34:00 | Did you click clean up system files and go through that list? sorry I can't be more specific as I don't have rights to do that here so I can't click that button but if you read through the list I think it should be there. Edit: Uncle google suggests this www.groovypost.com |

PJ to be honest, when it gets to that stage its time to get a bigger Drive . clutching at straws , delaying the inevitable. :) If you have data on an external drive, you need to think about backups. External drives do fail (especially USB sticks), you potentially risk loosing everything. Perhaps buy a 1Tb USB Hard Drive , keep the existing external drive as a backup copy . |
