OBJECTIVE: to manufacture hamburger patties from bulk ground beef, into 4 . 5-inch diameter, 1-inch thick 'burgers' on an assembly line in a restaurant . to keep human contact and physical interventions to a minimum . PURPOSE: to create individual shaped burgers, divided by waxed paper sheets of 7 inches x 7 inches, and stacking them for overnight refrigeration . to prepare, for the next day, numerically-sufficient hamburger patties from local ground beef, for cooking within 18 hours of grinding . DESIGN: food-quality stainless steel and sanitizable bearing surfaces, fully disassembled, it must not have any hidden areas that could harbor germs and bacteria . all parts must be very hot water washable and common detergents must not cause degradation of surfaces . all motors, drives and/or controlled surfaces must be sealed, not leaking any lubricant unless it is vegetable oils or food quality lard the machinery parts may not have to be chilled, unless the raw meat has to be kept in the machine for extended periods of time . I don't need F1 to actually write code for this project, as that will have to fall on the shoulders of the buddy who is making this machine . I may get involved writing on the command-stuff ---> but you know me-n-code . . . right? I'm just spitballing this here - looking for ideas and input on an entry/feasibility level . I suggested that he use a raspberry Pi as a processor and several stepper motors and perhaps pneumatic rams, kicker-actuators to move the burgers and maybe a screw unit to pump the raw beef into the screwed-squeezed-rammed-pressed-pushed-shaped-moved-paper covered-stacked area . | 1458737 | 2019-03-05 07:30:00 | You might be better of with an Arduino, I used to build 3d printers and they nearly always used Arduino or Ramps based boards. Get some ideas Herel (www.banggood.com). Know idea if they are any good its just so you can get ideas. Yes to stepper motors, 3d printers normaly use toothed wheel feed, but for food a worm screw might be better. |
