| 1201969 | 2011-05-13 23:02:00 | Hi, I am running Win7 Prof and have unchecked the box in User Accounts that requires a username and password to logon (control userpasswords2) , but am still being prompted for one, just as I am post 'screensaver' even tho I have turned that option off as well in 'power options'. Any ideas welcome. |

| 1201970 | 2011-05-13 23:27:00 | Think you may be doing it wrong, they dont have ticks any more in W7 (none that I can see and I have checked two W7's, Pro and ultimate) Click start, Control Panel, user Accounts, select your account, remove password, you will be prompted to enter the current password - Remove password. Edited: Found where you were looking -- didn't work for me either - do what I suggested above. |

| 1201971 | 2011-05-14 00:11:00 | Add to above, just tried it on another PC, and this time it did remove. Did you get the pop up window asking for the current password via userpasswords2 ? Just a thought - your account does have Admin rights, and not a standard User ? |

Thanks seem to have sorted it, reselected and booted so that it asked, then deselcted, filled in the pop up and rebooted. cheers |
