1167739 2011-01-06 19:04:00 It would appear spam levels are finally falling more here (www.bbc.co.uk) gary67 (56)
1167740 2011-01-06 20:30:00 A temporary condition I am sure. :( johcar (6283)
1167741 2011-01-06 21:06:00 I also saw a drastic reduction in spam on my Gmail account but I also think the spammers are having a bit of a holiday.

1167742 2011-01-06 21:34:00 After McColo got shut down or whatever, I noticed a big drop in the amount of spam to my Telecom address.

Everything else has stayed about the same.

1167743 2011-01-06 23:04:00 I'll believe it when I see it
I'm getting

Kiwibank
Secret Shopper
Please help me Ive got cancer
You got a tax refund

Every few days, and sometimes more.
But because of the nature of what I do, I cant turn them off.

The only solutuion is for all the worlds ISP's to get together and ban carrying traffic from them.

1167744 2011-01-06 23:36:00 You'd have to ban a lot of people from the Internet especially for those spambots which rely on virus-infected 'zombie' PCs aka botnets. Agent_24 (57)

I'm also with Telecom but get very little spam through to my Outlook 2010 inbox, however, if I log onto my email account via the yahooxtra website ... literally 100's of the things in the spam folder .... think you have to switch "Spamguard" on in the options for it to work though.

I see what you mean.
Oh well we'll just have to kill them then.

1167748 2011-01-07 01:01:00 I have seen no spam now for several months other than the scam messages offering me jobs or money.

Not the ISP, they have options that I can turn on or off for spam, I leave the filtering option off and use Mailwasher to screen the mail instead.

My normal account that used to get several hundred a spam a day, nothing now.

My second account that I used if I had to sign up for something or on newsgroups etc, used to run upto about a 100 spam a day, now nothing.

As mentioned, just the scam messages, nothing else.

Hopefully it will stay that way for a while longer.
