| 1167873 | 2011-01-08 08:59:00 | Don't know about their warranty services; just sent back a faulty Dlink USBB wireless adapter 2 days ago and was told that it's going to take 2 - 3 weeks! Is this acceptable? Anyone here with any experiences in their warranty services with them? Never dealt with them, so cant say re their warranty personally . BUT under the consumer guarantees act, the supplier has the option to fix, repair or replace a faulty Item . Usually (but not always, most shops) if the item is a week or two old, it may get replaced right away, what ever the time /age of the goods, if under warranty, its their choice as to how they handle it . Usually a good shop, would simply give you another one if in stock, and they then handle the warranty . Its a "cheap item" . Remember the shop is only the middle man - what they will more than likely do is send the item back to the official NZ repair agents, they will look at the problem and sort out the warranty . Even though you are dealing with the shop directly and not the manufacture, they still have the rights as mentioned before under the CGA . The time of 3-4 weeks is what the CGA states as a "reasonable time" . Not being nasty, but the question "Is this acceptable?" has nothing to do with consumer law . As long as they work within the CGA, theres nothing you can do . What is acceptable to one person is not to another . It can also depend on stock if a replacement can be given, hence that time as well is stated . Normally expect seven - ten working days . ( Monday-Friday) Personal example: We had the exact same thing with Harvey Normans on Friday - a set of expensive noise canceling headphones my son brought - 1st set broke after 3 months, HN replaced on the spot - second set lasted 4 months and broke . :angry The manufactures now want to see the second set - Quoted expected return time 1-2 weeks . |

I sometimes shop on play tech because the prices are quite competitive. I didn't like the old PB Site and don't really like the new one. Personally I wouldn't go past Elive or Computer Lounge. |
