| 1167924 | 2011-01-07 09:22:00 | I brought my xbox 360 elite inJune of 2009 so coming up 2 years this year. I have to say it is one of the best purchases I've made, never had any issues with it over that time. using it as a media center extender, the only thing ive had to do is convert to wmv but not really a big issue for me.. As Metla said the system is hitting its stride. as Microsoft did release the xbox 360 S, when sony first released the PS3, it was a reasonably large console in its own right. they eventually released a slimmed down version a couple years or so later so in that respect , Microsoft did what sony did to there console. is it an outdated console? yes and no. yes, because its been out for 5 years and was probably due for an update which it got. same thing can be said for sony as well. if either company was releasing a new version of their console every couple of years then how can they stand behind their product?? longevity in a console has to be good( for decent amount of time). doesnt it??? the kinect is a great addition to the xbox 360 S, im glad that it can be used with my lated model 360, extends the usefull life of my console. as long as my 360 continue to function without any problems or doesnt die i see no reason to buy a new console even if there was a next next generation console out from microsoft. it does what i want it to, im not fussed that it doesnt play blurays( over priced anyway), saved me having to pay a premium which the PS3 has. if it came out with bluray then thats a bonus. regarding the WOW factor from the original xbox to the 360, yes the was the wow factor because it was such a radical change. the change from the 360 to the 360 S was not as big but i think it is an exciting change . I'll finish with this; the change from the xbox to the xbox 360 was revolutionary no doubt. the change from the 360 to the 360 S was evolutionary. is radical change for the sake of radical change necessary if the console has been such a strong performer, reguarly outselling its rivals???? I think not. my few hundred cents worth :p |

| 1167926 | 2011-01-07 09:28:00 | I got the WOW factor when I replaced the 32" TV with a 50" TV.....I still get the wow factor.... And now we have two Xbox 360's, a steering wheel, drum-kit, 2 guitars, micro-phone, 4 controllers, the Kinect and a crap load of games thanks to Trademe. And due to the large amount of varied games available the entire family including the wife makes good use of it. |

When I play 360 games on my 50" plasma I get the wow factor "wow the graphics sucks what is this 2005?" Beyond bad graphics the consoles now lack the grunt to develop good looking "large" environments, so the games are largely nerved to smaller environments with lame scripted paths. The 360 is now holding development back and needs to be replaced imo (PS3 not a lot better). |
