1167543 2011-01-06 07:54:00 Oooh yes! The Ring is a great movie.

Theres a good Horrorish 30 minute movie from 1969 called The Cube made by the dude who created the muppets.

It later influenced the late 90's movie CUBE, which im yet to see.

1167544 2011-01-06 08:03:00 Horrors are funny, especially with the right people in the old Cranleigh house at rathkeale. We were in one weekend watching every move we could find. 2am on sat/sun we are having laughing fits over "horrors"

the we sat up for the next two nights because we were making up all sorts of f C*** about seeing faces in the door at the end of the dorm.

No fav though

1167545 2011-01-06 08:35:00 I like the real horror movies - not splatter movies.

Sacriest one I ever watched had no creatures, monsters, psychos, blood or anything.

Things happened. Not overt things, subtle creepy things so you were never sure if it was your (the characters) imagination or not.

At the end there was a death but again, was it accidental or not? It was "atmospheric", an over-used word but it really was.

ON occasion I like the odd zombie movie, but I don't consider them horror.

1167549 2011-01-06 18:10:00 The old Hammer Horrors used to entertain me. Always some good spooks, and always some buxom and beautiful leading ladies. You'd have thought all that feminine beauty would have put a permanent smile on Vincent Price's face.

As a teen I loved splatter. Since gettin' older I've developed more of a preference for not seeing gore and dismemberment (except in my games where there's loads of blood and body parts)

Aliens is about as close as I like to get to a horror these days.
Just the thought of the Exorcist, Omen movies however brings shivers.

I saw one of those Cube ones already mentioned - it was good.
The Ring was very spooky! Bought a copy on VHS and have never brought myself to watch it a second time!

I don't think I ever knew - it was a long time ago - I switched over and it had already started, so I missed the first 15 mins or so, inc the title. Pity.

Not really a horror but sounds similar to what pctek was talking about.

1167552 2011-01-07 01:43:00 Back in July or August I had the misfortune to sit thru a screening of the DVD of Paranormal Activity (is that supposed to be "Horror") with a bunch of people. They insisted on having all the curtains drawn and lights out. Boring as hell, apart from the females (sorry PC Tech) jumping at everything that didn't happen! It was more tedious than 2001 - A Space Odyssey! (Yeah I know that's not a horror and that the cinematography was ground breaking at the time). Now there's a damned sequel (To Paranormal not 2001). :yuck: tuiruru (12277)
