| 1203343 | 2011-05-19 15:42:00 | Thanks for your suggestions a few days ago re my difficulty with Admin prob when attempting to install USB modem drivers. Unfortunately, I did not get a result but further searching has led me to; expert.gigfa.com which may be of interest to you. It seems that lots of others have had the same prob and have cured it by rolling back from IE8 to IE7. Can't understand the compatibility issue and haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know if it works for me sometime this weekend. |

Never struck it myself (yet) Not at all surprised that an update causes a problem. But I wouldn't have thought IE would do that, considering the problem appears to be a device driver. If it were the patch that MS put out a while back with regards to killing the auto run, that I wouldn't be surprised if it caused troubles, as auto runs can and do work from USB. |
