www.tomshardware.com

Also shows what to look for , re protection circuitry,105 degree caps etc.

"You can get a "400 W PSU" for $US20, and such fire hazards are installed in budget PCs every day by unscrupulous companies that know exactly the risk they're handing off to buyers."

1203249 2011-05-19 14:48:00 What to look for is something built by a reputable manufacturer and which uses high quality Japanese capacitors, or Samxon but NOT the GF series.

Some designs are good but just use junk capacitors, in which case replacement with decent ones results in a good PSU.

105°C means nothing, there are plenty of Chinese and Taiwanese capacitors rated for 105°C which are rubbish.

Note that for the real cheap PSUs the UL numbers etc are usually made up, don't exist or trace back to a good company and which are clearly lies.

HongKongFlyApart PSU made by Antec? I don't think so...
