| 1168392 | 2011-01-09 20:44:00 | Anyone regret buying the small laptops, every time I look I think the next one up would be better, in spite of the fact that the idea is as a travel unit and the odd use in lounge as WiFi. | Cicero (40) | ||
| 1168393 | 2011-01-09 21:17:00 | Netbooks are always evolving, that said my Eee 701 (bought in 2008) is still "sort of adequate" for me. I do plan on buying a new one for university though. |

| 1168394 | 2011-01-09 21:18:00 | My daughter is very happy with the one I bought her fifteen months ago. She uses it at university and to watch movies - although movies wouldn't be an option I would personally use it for on such a small screen. But the battery life is amazing... (I recently upgraded it to Win 7) |

(I recently upgraded it to Win 7) What size screen is that? Oh and given the choice, would she prefer bigger screen? I saw HP unit for 450 in HN yesterday. |

| 1168397 | 2011-01-09 21:30:00 | Cicero, I, like you am thinking about getting a netbook for the same reasons but am wondering if an Ipad would be better. They seem to be taking over from netbooks. | Pato (2463) | ||

It's a 10 inch screen (EeePC 1000HA) - it's just right for her purposes (and good eyes). Not a fan of consumer-level HP units, of ANY type - I've heard too many sad stories... |

| 1168399 | 2011-01-09 21:50:00 | imo the circa-10" screens are the best balance - much smaller and it's irritating to use, much larger and it loses the ultraportable factor. | inphinity (7274) | ||
| 1168400 | 2011-01-09 23:20:00 | I bought a HP 110 mini in the boxing day sale from HN for $350 10.1" screen atom processor as most are. Deleted all the HP stuff removed the restore partition installed what I need and then imaged it. I wanted an eee with the dual core processor but simply couldn't afford it. I am very happy with mine so far | gary67 (56) | ||
| 1168401 | 2011-01-09 23:26:00 | I bought another Thinkpad but I regret it, it was a good price used, reliable etc like my past 3 but they are too large. I think it depends, if it's for casual use or travel for me it's more about size. Any unit will do email and web surfing. For myself the builtin 3G looks nice too. I been curious about the Pads too just because they are smaller. I really don't need the extra features of the Netbooks really. My use on travel is pretty basic. |
