1168310 2011-01-09 08:20:00 Might be graphic in the smash scenes, but sadly its also true :groan:

Couldn't believe what we saw the other day.

A few of us stopped at a Intersection, a + type, (traffic from 4 ways) controlled by lights, Some F'in IDIOT - and thats being polite, 2 cars back from us, pulls out of the stopped line, straight past us all stopped, through the red light, only just missing some guy on a bike, along with a car that had the green.

Wasn't fast enough to get their license number.Wheres a cop when you need one

1168311 2011-01-09 08:38:00 So why do our police or whoever it is, not make more add's? or have real graffic ones that show realities, not acting . . . . or have harsher penalties?
im not sure what is an effective method to get the harsh realities of driving badly or drunk across to all drivers no matter what age?

Why are we not a nill alcohol blood limit for driving?

Any one have any ideas? is raising the driving age helping or going to help? the age of drinking? what about blood alcohol limit? how would they enforce a nil limit any way?
:illogical

The police don't make ads . TVNZ does on behalf of the govt .
Why? Because it doesn't work .

Why? Because most of the population drinks - oh hang on, most of the voters drink .

I agree with you . Ever see all this sort of thing happen because you had too many cigarettes before driving? Nope . But ignore the drinkers . . . . . . . .

1168314 2011-01-09 18:45:00 Nope but years ago I had a friend crash his car and nearly kill us both because hot ash dropped on his leg and burn him as he was wearing shorts. I consider smoking and driving to be as dangerous as driving after drinking alcohol or using a cellphone gary67 (56)
1168315 2011-01-09 19:39:00 So why isnt the message getting thru to people?

ive been in 3 accidents, and drinking was involved in neither . . . . . . . . . .
walked away from all of them, one car was written off, and the other was the jeep, it survived both times a side on scrape and a rear ender .

dont wish to be in anything worse than them .

1168316 2011-01-09 20:12:00 Yes the government whether National or Labour or any other party is too frighten to take drastic actions for the fear of losing votes whether in an election year or not.

1168317 2011-01-09 20:28:00 I think they're great ads ... but unfortunately the people who they are targeting tend to look away when they screen ... in total denial.

The ... "it'll never happen to me attitude" ... has to be stopped, question is ... how ??

1168318 2011-01-09 20:52:00 Riveting ad .

But too long - time enough for the audience to visit the loo, and/or boil the jug, and/or get another beer, etc .

And I fear the message may be lost on those who need it the most, their attention span tends to be minimal . :angry
