1168833 2011-01-11 23:23:00 I've had my dv6 for around 15 months now.

Only problem was the battery which they replace over the phone.

An interesting image. I am visualising a battery being forced into a handset microphone from the Call Centre...

1168838 2011-01-12 05:49:00 So you're saying the midrange/high end business HP notebooks are good? ie you haven't needed to fix them in the 3 years you've worked...?

The problem is they generally wont have discrete graphics, but they will tend to have an expresscard slot which means you can use a desktop graphics card on them anyway...

The higher end ones like 8xxx(i think, they have changed it again) ones usually have discrete graphics & decent res screens.

They fail much much much less often that the DV series, the build quality on those things is just rubbish compared to the business series.

Most common failures I had with business stuff were keyboards and hard drives - most of the ones that broke belonged to school teachers and didn't look like they had an easy life.

Most common part I replaced on DV series would be system board and towards the end the track pad buttons were all snapping off....yay for build quality.

And I don't do work for HP anymore.

1168839 2011-01-12 06:31:00 Interesting, and doesn't really surprise me either that the business series would be better quality. Agent_24 (57)
