A 51-year-old man charged with a double murder in Auckland yesterday has had his name suppressed so his children can be told of the charges.

So if his name wasn't suppressed his children wouldn't find out about the charges?

1169749 2011-01-15 12:52:00 I think that is a typo, on stuff it says "so HE can notify his children" or something to that effect, it is also normally why interim name supression is given, so the person charged can notify thier family themselves rather than the family finding out from the press. Wonder if he realised that when he got up that morning?

1169752 2011-01-16 21:49:00 Its a shame that many of the murders in NZ are committed by new immigrants on new immigrants. (like this one appears to be)

I wonder if its because they find it hard getting on in NZ or assimilating etc. They are obviously away from their immediate family.

That must be it, I know I had the urge to murder when I was away from my family.
