1169633 2011-01-14 00:32:00 This is a serious enquiry, so I'd appreciate not getting facetious comments about XT...

I want to get Telecom to take some notice of this and investigate it.

Does anyone else have the same issue:

Your Telecom XT phone is set to sync the phone clock with the network.

When you compare the time on the phone against your PC (assuming your PC syncs with one of the international time services), the time displayed on the phone is three minutes slow.

If you do have this issue, could you please list below your phone make and model and geographically where you are in NZ.

I already know of two (different makes of) phones in Auckland and one in Hamilton that have this problem - apparently since fairly recently... But it's doesn't seem to be across the board some phones seem to be OK.

If yours is OK, could you also please list below your phone make and model and geographically where you are in NZ.

Thanks

1169634 2011-01-14 00:39:00 Both my XP netbook and my Samsung C5220 report the current time as 1:39pm. In Auckland.

EDIT: The phone is behind by a few seconds, but not really enough to be significant.

1169641 2011-01-14 04:24:00 I run an app called 'ClockSync' on my N1 - it syncs the clock via NTP every few hours, and means I don't have to worry about what the local cell network thinks it is.

I have no idea how accurate the network time is these days (I use 2degrees, roaming on Vodafone outside the main centres), but when I initially got my N1 back in March, Vodafone's network time was way out.

1169642 2011-01-14 04:52:00 Thanks Erayd - I can only use that app if I root the N1 (something I'd rather not do at the moment).

So it looks like I'll have to get into an ultimately pointless discussion with a 'bunny' on 126 who would no doubt get me to restart my phone (already done, several times!) and then be as stumped as I am.
