| 1168688 | 2011-01-11 04:06:00 | Just looked up Google. SH1 is 70km and 58mins, and they list Western route as 104km at 1:16min. In practice the Western Road is a better road with far less traffic and if you wanted to you could cruise at 120km. Not that I would of course. SH1 still very windy, most of it in nowhere the same condition, and carries much more traffic. That bears out what I originally said, the Western road is less busy by far, and about the same time. Have fun, just keep Lake Taupo on your right hand side and you can't go wrong. | WalOne (4202) | ||
