2011-05-22 07:04:00 | I'm trying to connect my laptop to my Sony bravia via vga connection and keep getting "stereo 1024x768 60Hz unsupported signal, Check your device output" this happens no matter what resolution i set it on. Its a KDL 40EX400 model bravia and I can connect it to my desktop monitor using the same cable without any problems.

2011-05-22 07:39:00 | Could be because the laptop is 4:3 and the tv is 16:9. :pf1mobmini:

2011-05-22 09:56:00 | Its clearly the case because your laptop res is 1024x768. The question is if that's the reason your tv wont accept the input. Have you looked at the settings on your tv? :pf1mobmini:

2011-05-22 10:15:00 | I have looked at the settings of the tv but found nothing related to the vga resolution or just picture resolution, might have missed something but i don't know. | Mateo1981 (12187) | |

2011-05-22 11:39:00 | www.sonystyle.com (See footnotes at the bottom, esp footnote #4). You need to enable and adjust your secondary display on your laptop (it should have detected the fact you've connected it), right click the desktop screen and select Properties then Settings (tab), need laptop/OS details for more help. (Right click desktop, then Screen Resolution in Win7).

2011-05-22 20:39:00 | Laptop is wxga which is 16:10, the bravia is 16:9. You may need a newer laptop to plug into the tv. I cant confirm that this is the problem. Try adjusting the refresh rate :pf1mobmini:
