1203541 2011-05-20 05:20:00 Yeah, the social spin on it I think is a bit unneccesary. It's something similar to what Soluto (www.soluto.com/) is doing but their tagline "Anti-frustration software" didn't ring true for me (http:). sal (67)
1203542 2011-05-25 22:43:00 Hi, this is Chris from SlimWare. I just came across this thread and wanted to chime in.

@ruup thanks for bringing us up! We actually just launched out of beta for the first time today, so you need to make sure you are running the latest version which can be downloaded from slimcleaner.com

@GameJunkie: We don't install any crapware or toolbars, so feel free to install and compare, you might be surprised.

@sal: you should try us before making the comparison to Soluto, we are actually very different. You don't have to use the "social" aspect to use the software at all. It's just there for those that do. It doesn't use your resources or time if you don't use it. Again, you can't know until you try.

Sorry I didn't find this thread sooner. Hope you all give us a fair shot before passing judgment :)

Cheers!
Chris

1203543 2011-05-25 23:43:00 Hi Chris

Just downloaded SlimCleaner - un7 zipped and Universal Extractor'd it.
Sent portable option to my USB drive.
No nasties installed and registry kept clean.
No issues on first run. I will keep it for a while. Looks good.
PLEASE!!! consider a portable only version.

1203546 2011-05-26 07:06:00 @Bobh and @Scubadoo - on why it took so long, I was google'ing for slimcleaner coverage because we launched today . I hope that answers your question (not sure) . Maybe cause we are in the US and goog uses geo-targeting for personalized search, who knows?

@Scubadoo, on the SlimCleaner: thank you so much for trying us out . Hope you have time to drill down into the app and see the unique functionality in there (virustotal integration, granular filters etc) . As for the portable version, just pop in thumb drives and create as many thumb drive versions right from the settings dialog as you want . We made that feature to be as convenient (and simple) as possible . We may can put the portable version as a separate download in the future if it is required by users, but we put the tool in-app to build your so users can make as many as they want right from the app . Let me know if there is a reason why we would need to keep a separate version for portable hosted . Perhaps we're missing something?

We WANT to make it as quick and easy to make as many portable versions as needed, on demand . And we listen to our users needs (we are after all community-powered :) . Thanks again for using us and the feedback!

I'll see if I can subscribe to this thread to stay in the loop .

Chris .
