| 1169945 | 2011-01-15 21:41:00 | Hi Guys Any of you traders or retailers out there come up with an easy formula to calculate the GST component and the net of a items retail price. We used to divide by 9. Its easy to add on 15% to the net, but going the other way is not so easy. Or even a spreadsheet formula would be a help. I remember reading years ago that the next easy GST figure would have been 17.5%. |

I put the formula supplied by lakewoodlady thru its paces - works for me. Multiply the full GST inclusive price by 3 then divide that result by 23. The end result will be the GST amount. |
