1203559 2011-05-28 02:03:00 Wow these guys are really on to it nedkelly (9059)
1203560 2011-05-30 00:51:00 Yeah I'm impressed!!

I reckon that's the way to go, just say to the stupid users (Like me, though I was legitimately trying to push the limits): "Well, you're too stupid to heed our warnings and close your browser, so we're not going to rip your system to pieces and instead chose to leave well enough alone. Close your browser like we told you and try again!"

Awesome that you guys have been so involved with the community, and the feedback, that's real great to see!!

1203561 2011-05-30 23:33:00 So I ran through the updated version that you posted, got a few things that come to mind:
1) Why not have it carry on and just fail on the browser that's still open? The window could say "Safari is still running and will be skipped", then the user hits a "Continue" button
2) Any ideas on a "smart" cookie cleaner, that leaves things with login information stored, so that logins to websites such as PressF1 don't get cleaned, but other tracking cookies are removed?
3) How about an extra option for "essential" startup services, perhaps next to where it displays something is "good" under the Optimize Startup section? Might be useful to see what you actually *need* in order to have your system boot well. Things like Anti-Virus stay, things like Google Updater and Adobe Speed Launcher go. Makes sense for keeping in line with the "Supercharged" optimization of services.
4) Services. I was a tool and sped through everything last week, so when I came in today my Themes service was disabled. Now I realize why. Perhaps some extra comments in the space next to the "Supercharged" status could be useful, just to show users what's being nuked through the "Supercharging" and why it's not essential to the running of the PC? Even just a little "?" mark which takes you to some online help perhaps?
5) When loading the definitions from "the cloud" for the optimization, the program appeared to hang for a bit and it faded to grey. Not the end of the world, but I noticed it, though I'd pass that on.
6) Shredder - Is that overwritten with random data, or just zero's for example? Could be worth mentioning somewhere on that page, as random data is significantly more secure.

Hope this helps

Chill.

1203562 2011-05-31 16:24:00 CS: we'll have an updated response today. chris_slimware (16383)
1203563 2011-06-24 05:28:00 Just thought I'd drag up this thread, haven't heard anything from them in 3 weeks ... Still a useful product, but unless there's those couple of extra features added in, I personally feel it'd be easier to stick with CCleaner which is a little smaller and more streamlined. The extra size would definitely be worth it if the product was able to do those things though, without a doubt ! Chilling_Silence (9)

Sorry, for the delayed response CS . We have so many users on our forums and facebook, this thread hasn't been replied to (I thought I had, sorry), but actually your feedback has been used a lot as guidance .

The latest version actually has the only cookie filter that can detect login cookies vs ad tracking cookies that we are aware of . Press F1 was manually added ;) (we call it intellicookie for now)

The size of the setup file has been reduced by nearly a full MB .

The cloud-Sync updates have been set to manual by default after the initial launch of the application, so it flows much more smoothly now . You can turn them back on in the general settings . There is a refresh button on the top right of the relevant dialogs as well . NOTE: We still have them set to auto by default on portable versions because of the fact you are generally accessing a new computer when you launch the portable version, but it can also be toggled off in the settings .

Most of the other features you requested we are either working on or have an alternative solution .

So try it out and let us know what you think!

I have to run to a funeral, but I will check this thread again tonight .

Thanks for the feedback!
