1169941 2011-01-18 19:27:00 I did say that I have not run the cleanup tool as yet.

Also I assume I could use system restore to roll back the installation or does that go too if I was to run the cleanup?

How to cleanup old hot fix information after installing SP1 (cleanup tool)
Once Service Pack 1 is installed you may opt to remove old information regarding old hot fixes and the SP1 un-installation tool as well. Note that if you perform this step you can NEVER remove SP1!

Unless you can restore an image.

1169942 2011-01-18 19:53:00 I've been trying to install this on a 64bit Pro system but keep getting error messages. Wanted me to install Hotfix KB947821 - did that but still no go. Where do you get the cleanup tool from? Is it supposed to be part of the install process? fnphoto (2434)
1169943 2011-01-18 20:15:00 Not sure about the last sentence in that. Installed SP1 and it made a restore point so I guess I can roll back. Also SP1 appears in my list of updates as did the Beta SP1 which I uninstalled before installing SP1 RTM.

I have not tried it but are you saying that you can't uninstall after you run the cleanup which I have not done as yet?

I am asking just to clarify BTW. Bit late in answering -- Never tried to uninstall it -- I just read that once installed it was there for good.

Its actually a command you type in to get it to run. Open CMD, run as administrator- then type in:

dism /online /cleanup-image /spsuperseded

Press enter, and it will run.

OR being lazy :D, I made a bat file - opened Notepad - pasted that code in, then saved as - change to All Files - cleanup.bat Example (www.imagef1.net.nz) - then right clickit, run as administrator, and it does the rest.
