1204365 2011-05-23 19:25:00 I've got an original retail DVD for OSX Tiger and that's it. When I booted from it I had no diagnostic or memtest option. I can install OSX and run some utilies like Disk Utility, Network Utility etc but as far as I can see that's it.

If there is some special key combination to access diagnostic tools on that DVD I do not know it

If any AHT disc was supposed to be with the Mac, I haven't got it.

For PPC based Macs, use the Install Disc 1 that came with your Mac, hold down alt or option key depending on your keyboard, select the Hardware Test from the menu, and the menu selections and loop mode are as for Intel based Macs.

1204368 2011-05-24 05:01:00 It's the Power Mac G4 MDD - Model M8570

From what I could find on the Apple forums, AHT v1.2.7 is supposed to work but it presented the same error code that v1.2.6 did - which apparently is a bug, so either both are buggy, the version number is wrong, or somehow a fault is causing the error.

Of course I don't know as much about Macs as I do about standard PCs so it's quite likely I'm just doing something wrong.
