1171390 2011-01-22 02:48:00 Hi

So the IRD website tax calculator is based on annual based salary. I can't even find the tax rate for payments for the kinda pay I'm receiving.
It's a 3 month contract with $18hr . 8Hrs 30mins, Mon- Friday..

I wanna work out how much tax is each day?

Does anyone who's familiar with tax rates have ny idea?

You do have a IRD in Palmy! go and get a Withholding Tax declaration form as you are on Contract.

Used to do it for shearers' through the Gorge in Southern Hawkes Bay and I see it is still in vogue after 40 years.

Lurking.

Ps do they still have the "Milkbar Cowboys" on Broadway, lol.

+1, and getting a Withholding Tax certificate depends on the industry you're in, and the deductions aren't necessarily enough to cover your end of year tax liability, which you will know since you'll have to file a tax return as you've been paid withholding tax. If you're contracting full time, you may want to consider getting tax advice from IRD/an accountant.

Are you still a "student" ? as your profile shows.

Perhaps this link may help:

www.ird.govt.nz

I have been retired from accounting work for over 19 years, so the more younger folk on here should be up with the play.

Still use an old spreadsheet to do my IR3 returns before using the IRD website facility for completion online.
