1170939 2011-01-20 01:38:00 Give Anything Electronic in Nelson a ring & you could try Auto Electrical Spares. I think they're in one of the new roads around Lincoln Road area. Worth a bash. I'm sure there's a way to make the sender compatible with any gauge, they work from resistance in the sender. You might have to send the gauge in with the sender so they can make it compatible. It's worth a phone call anyway Phil B (648)
1170940 2011-01-20 01:42:00 Had a look at the link. If that's the same resistance range as the new gauge you're laughing. If not adjust it with a resistor in the wire to the gauge Phil B (648)
1170941 2011-01-20 02:40:00 In the bad old days when I drove cars that needed regular repairing, I used Michies Auto-Electrical in Como Street Takapuna.

Gordon Michie was a magician with anything electrical (although he's probably retired by now)...

Yep I will run with this gage, I am not going down the repair path the VAL gage was unreliable when it was working. $149 for both seems ok. Some clown was going to sell me a VAL instrument panel which has the fuel gage in it for $250 and couldn't guarantee it worked and to get the sender price unknown he would have to remove the VAL tank.
Thanks again Phil and JC for useful help.

1170943 2011-01-20 03:47:00 If you use the aftermarket sender you wanna try & get it to sit inside the baffles (if it's got them on a Bedford. Might be too modern lol) Otherwise you could have a fuel gauge waving at you when you're moving Phil B (648)
