1170288 2011-01-17 11:45:00 If you're only getting the TV for the sake of it being a TV, then sure, you could go for a DSE brand one. Although it might conk out quite quickly or you might find the picture so aggravating you can't stand it.
I mean, my samsung 32" died in less than a year of (presumably) bad caps. And I thought samsung were legendary sort of reliable.

So yeah if you don't expect the world from it then it could do for a replacement.
Alternatively though, just go for a better branded HD ready tv. As they say, at smaller sizes the resolution doesn't really matter that much, so long as it looks pretty for the pricepoint.

You are correct they are the ones I was referring to. There is a series of 4 models from 22" to 42". The question is Has anyone on the forum tried them?

tnx

1170292 2011-01-18 08:20:00 Probably not. since most people here would view them as not worth the hassle. You could try asking them in store what the failure rates are like of each one you're looking at. I mean sure they might not be COMPLETELY honest but they should at least give you a rough idea, especially if you express genuine interest in buying a tv when you go with a set budget. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)
1170293 2011-01-18 08:32:00 They would probably be pretty good as long as you replaced any suspect capacitors.

I would be doing that as soon as the warranty ran out.
