1169929 2011-01-16 02:26:00 I have just uninstalled the Beta SP1 in order to accomodate the RTM Version. Snorkbox (15764)
1169930 2011-01-16 06:13:00 Tomorrows job since my main comp isn't on only this netbook to check my email in front of the tv gary67 (56)
1169931 2011-01-17 05:00:00 Anyone know if this works on win7 starter, I'm assuming so, so giving it a go will report back gary67 (56)
1169932 2011-01-17 06:45:00 Yep works fine on starter gary67 (56)
1169933 2011-01-17 07:39:00 Takes a while to install though. :) Next job is to slipstream it so I can do an sfc /scannow should I want to without a wrong ver installed message or whatever. Snorkbox (15764)
1169934 2011-01-17 07:43:00 Yes that will need to be done this week too, downside is I don't have a disc for the stater that's on the netbook. Still I image each computer every time there is a major change so shouldn't need to reinstall any time gary67 (56)
1169935 2011-01-17 07:48:00 Did image before and after so no hurry for me either. Snorkbox (15764)
1169936 2011-01-17 10:02:00 Just installed it on a workshop / Muck around PC.

After you run the clean up Via the command prompt, or as I did made a bat file ( lazy eh!) I recovered 1 GB of space - (Before SP1 was installed) - the cleanup removes all previous Windows updates since they are in SP1 anyway.
Example: Pre SP1 used 12.7 GB - after SP1, and cleanup run, now only used 11.7GB

Only thing -- once run, you cant uninstall SP1 if you wanted to.

Not sure about the last sentence in that. Installed SP1 and it made a restore point so I guess I can roll back. Also SP1 appears in my list of updates as did the Beta SP1 which I uninstalled before installing SP1 RTM.

I have not tried it but are you saying that you can't uninstall after you run the cleanup which I have not done as yet?

I am asking just to clarify BTW.

1169937 2011-01-17 19:53:00 Ah but have you run the cleanup tool, once you do it dissapears from the list gary67 (56)

I did say that I have not run the cleanup tool as yet.

Also I assume I could use system restore to roll back the installation or does that go too if I was to run the cleanup?
