| 1171708 | 2011-01-23 21:25:00 | First game I played online (sorta) Well, just via a modem dialing in directly to the other guy's home ph, No internet play back then. Wasnt it sort of competing with Doom (better game, worse graphics). But who cares. They cant make it anything like the original if they want it to sell. Its 10 years too late. Games have moved on. Even Wolf's remake was nothing like the original (was just Wolf by name only) Ahh, shareware. The memories. |

How can you not like Duke :dogeye: I recall a game via modem play against a friend way back before the internet (ditto 1101). He lived in another town. Still to this day was the best multiplayer game i have ever had. Period There is a high res version around on the internet |

| 1171711 | 2011-01-24 19:50:00 | There were 3 or more earlier Duke Nukem games that were 2D platform scrollers (ie tedious). There is a world of difference between the 2D and 3D games. |

I immediatly thought of architects and kitchen designers. A friend of mine who was a programmer produced a map of each level on Wolfenstien on his dot-matrix printer. Sorry to go off topic slightly. |
