1205139 2011-06-01 07:18:00 Is the one you have /want to use in This list (www.msi.com).

Not that I can see. It's an AMD Sempron 3200, 1.8ghz.

1205140 2011-06-01 07:55:00 You should contact MSI about it.

Possibly they didn't bother putting it on the list because it's old and they didn't expect anyone to actually use it, but it may be still supported, I don't see why it shouldn't be.

1205141 2011-06-01 07:59:00 Or I could just get some new motherboard and CPU.... Doesn't need to be a powerhouse. Only will be used for surfing the net and posting onto the blog I run.

Will probably put Windows 7 on.

1205142 2011-06-01 08:51:00 I just realised why your CPU is not listed, of course it's not supported, that board is AM3 and no AM2\AM2+ CPUs are supported in AM3 boards as they (the CPUs) don't have DDR3 memory controllers.

However there are still quite a few AM2\AM2+ boards available from several shops.

1205143 2011-06-01 09:09:00 Just got to locate an AM2 motherboard. QW. (15883)
1205144 2011-06-01 09:13:00 You could get the Asus M2N68-AM Plus, it's available at multiple stores including Ascent if you like them:

Only thing is it doesn't appear to have a floppy disk controller, although that may not be an issue for you

1205145 2011-06-01 09:32:00 Who uses floppy disks these days? QW. (15883)
1205146 2011-06-01 11:36:00 Actually I do sometimes, for BIOS updates, diagnostic tools and other things  Agent_24 (57)
1205147 2011-06-02 04:59:00 I will get Intel D510MO. Should be more than enough to do basic internet browsing or is there something else I should consider? QW. (15883)
