1171565 2011-06-16 23:44:00 Yeah a lot of games these days seem too short... Maybe we're just too good at playing them?

Most likely they just make them too easy as well... Like ZeroPunctuation said, Valve focus-tests the crap out of everything and if you're caught staring at a wall for too long they put a giant arrow on it to make sure you know where to go.

1171566 2011-06-17 00:25:00 Yeah I was like that with Croc. Spent days getting to the level before the final one and just couldn't do it. Mediocre graphics by todays standards though, but significantly longer game.

Then again, Borderlands wasn't specifically 'short'?

Same with Demons Souls, it tried to king the King Allant in the end but couldnt melee him, he was too strong. Ended up sneaking up (as suggested online) poisoning him and waiting 20 minutes.....bit of a cheat

1171567 2011-06-17 00:29:00 i've watched a couple reviews about it/gameplay videos on different sites and tbh i think i would be disappointed if i brought it, regardless of the price.

doesnt really do anything for me

1171568 2011-06-17 02:14:00 i dont get the bad reviews - i thought it was awesome - Duke is back and better than ever - leaving the whole thing open for a sequel

and the thing is - most of the bad press is "a game that wasnt worth the 12 years"

now that the Duke nukem forever name is done and dusted - its a fresh slate - a fresh start to start the next one - new ideas not just rehashes and restarts like DNF had during its whole time during development

the new game wont have the stigma of "12 years" or "forever" attached to it

regardless ill be doing my 4th play through of it tonight :D

1171569 2011-06-17 03:06:00 Those are some good points...

Assuming anyone is actually going to want to pay for development of another one!
