1206487 2011-06-02 23:36:00 WE have just been upgraded to ADSL2 here this morning

My router connects at: (copy paste)
ADSL Status Mode State Up Speed Down Speed SNR Margin Loop Att.
ADSL2+(G.992.5) SHOWTIME 700000 23848000 12 3

Speed test was .5 up and 14 down.

Is this normal, was hoping for a better down or is that theoretical perfect world?

Cheers

1206488 2011-06-02 23:48:00 I get a download speed of anywhere up to 27Mbps depending on the time of day or night - my average is around the 14 to 15 mark.

Upload is pathetic at 590kbps but I think that is expected.

1206489 2011-06-03 03:54:00 Who's your ISP? When was this test taken? To which server?

You're syncing at some pretty damn decent speeds right there, I'd expect you to get a little better, but still 14m/bit is nothing to scoff at provided it's all day, every day.

1206490 2011-06-03 04:03:00 thats what i would think too Chill
At home my router syncs at 1.1U & 23.6D and speed tests are 1.1U & 20.9 down so i thought here would be similar

We are with Orcon here, and i just used speedtest.net

Does it matter if there is a lot of traffic when you do the speed test or is that independent of your connection? Reason i ask is the speed test was done during work time when people are using it, not like at home you can do it when you are the only on the net?

EDIT: Just did another test attached

Cheers

1206493 2011-06-03 04:13:00 Turn off interleaving for a better ping time.

Yes, if others are utilizing the line, that's probably what's affecting it. I'd suggest your line is fine. Try testing first thing in the morning, say 6:30AM before everybody else gets in, and see if you can max your line out then.
