1205928 2011-05-31 09:59:00 Mb is Gigabyte GA-EP45t UD 3LR

Ram Kingston PC3 10600 CL9-240 (Note 4x 2GB)

OS is Win7 64

Will run quite happy with 6 gb but as soon as you load the extra 2 gb PC crashes.

Have changed the Ram and it doesn't matter which slot you leave empty so it's not the mb slot or the ram. Some bios setting were wash out not allowing you to change anything so i pulled the battery to reset the bios then loaded fail safe default still no different.

Note it does boot into windows with 8gb but goes blue screen havent been able to see what it says so i have disabled auto restart.
TIA Wayne

1205929 2011-05-31 10:13:00 My first thought was a faulty stick or or a faulty slot, but since you've eliminated those, I am stumped.....hmmmm..... qazwsxokmijn (102)
1205930 2011-05-31 10:26:00 Me too, i have a feeling its either a bios setting or Win7 this computer was bulit 18 months ago (approx) by the owner we had trouble back then with XP pro 2 x 2gb G Skill ram ended up changing ram to a different brand. WayneMiddy (14028)
1205931 2011-05-31 10:34:00 What BIOS is on it?? Since its up to F10 now. Did you check if that ram is on the memory support list ? (www.gigabyte.us)

Youre not the only 1 with that prob (forums.tweaktown.com). Is easytune on this? It can cause crashes on a GB system

If you disabled auto restart what does the BSOD say?

1205933 2011-05-31 10:56:00 Thanks guys will check it out when i see it next. Not sure which bios version will find out. will report latter thanks. WayneMiddy (14028)
1205934 2011-06-01 12:02:00 All sorted thanks for the input, I changed the ram FSB down from 13333 to 10600 that fix it as far as the mem test was concerned .

The ram had 10600 on it and with bios seting on auto it was running at 1333 i guess only time will tell . i have left the BSOD auto reboot disabled, I will run it tomorrow and see how it goes .

Cheers Wayne
