| 1205836 | 2011-05-31 05:27:00 | Hi PressF1 experts, My browsers, IE and Firefox, have both been hijacked with a start page critter and insist on opening at http://meta-finder.com. Changing the starting page with Tools>Options does not work and changing the Start Page entry in the registry does not work. Can anyone suggest how to remove this problem? A Google search does not offer any solution but reveals that others also are having the same problem. Many thanks in anticipation. |

| 1205838 | 2011-05-31 06:09:00 | Hi Speedy, Not found in Hosts file and MB found nothing. Have now discovered that changing the reistry Start Page value did the trick for IE, but changing the browser.startup.homepage setting in about:config does not fix Firefox. |

| 1205839 | 2011-05-31 22:45:00 | could be a toolbar. installed any new ones lately? You may have to unistall and then if you want to reinstall just make sure you don't check make homepage. They should have a tick. The other option is use SpyBot SD and lock whatever you want your homepage to be | dpDesignz (15919) | ||
| 1205840 | 2011-06-01 04:46:00 | All is Ok for now. Editing the registry did fix IE and in the end a re-install of Firefox fixed that though why I don't know unless the thing had set itself up within Firefox. I usually do a custom install of software but could well have missed something. Thanks for input. |
