I read on Google News that The Waitangi Marai is asking for $1000 for the right to enter the grounds to tape the events.If the TV companies don't like it then they should stay away. Racism is repression and prejudice against a group of people based on their race, carried out by a more powerful cultural group. The critical element is who holds the power. In the USA it was the majority white people over a slave minority. In South Africa it was a white minority over a vast black majority - but the white people had the money, the army, the government - and the power. In Fiji, the indigenous minority hold power over the Fijian-Indian majority. In no way, shape, form, or purpose can Maori be said to have dominant power in NZ. All that aside, I hope the media boycott. |
