2011-01-29 21:55:00 | Just sold an item for $730 and was stung $36 in success fees. I know TM fees have been getting stupider and stupider but I didn't realise they were that much. Looking into it... $150 - $1500 $10.35 + 4.5% of sale price over $150 What the heck is the $10 for? It used to just be a % of your sale (which from memory was about 3.something?) And I see you can be charged a maximum of $149, that's ridiculous. Being charged to set a reserve price ****es me off too. /rant. First time I've sold something on TM in ages.

2011-01-29 22:17:00 | I don't think any other sites have the same number of viewers as TradeMe. Unless you went international like eBay. | --Wolf-- (128) | |

2011-01-29 22:20:00 | it's a free market world. if you don't like trademe then go elsewhere. but keep in mind that trademe have about 90% of the eye balls. it the price you pay to get the to people you are selling to.

2011-01-29 22:33:00 | The question you have to ask yourself is, "Would I have been able to sell the item as quickly, for as much, anywhere else?". If the answer is No, then you just have to suck it up. If the answer is Yes, maybe, then lesson learned for next time. I just sold an item - got $500 for it and lost around $40 in listing, success and Pay Now fees. I paid $500 for the item a couple or three years ago, and wouldn't have a chance getting that much anywhere else.

2011-01-29 22:35:00 | $150 - $1500 $10 . 35 + 4 . 5% of sale price over $150 Yes . Under $150 is 6 . 9% soon to increase to 7 . 5% . Sella would be good if everyone moved . But they stay because they haven't heard of others and TM therefore has the market share . Fairfax just made a big profit, bet they put the local paper fees up too soon . Costs us loads to advertise there now . ^%$$# Aussie corporations .
