| 1173741 | 2011-04-01 02:38:00 | We are going to get some evil pesticides now .... See the pix. Looks like my cauli plants. I've got Orange CHeddar caulis. I have snails and white butterfly. Snails - Tui Quash Snail poison - animal friendly. White butterfly - derris dust. Not that I do, mostly I let the cat chase them. Which is why the holes, but whatever, the caulis are winning. The cat isn't. Don't think she likes the taste, she's eating more cicadas than anything else. Having been here not long, next year should be better. I have planted: Passionfruit vine Grapevine Tea Bush (Camellia Sinensis) - going to have a go at DIY tea. Orange tree Strawberries All of which will fruit next year - the orange this year. Made: Pickled onions Tomato relish Plum sauce Plum Jam Froze veges And ordered a Black Doris (double grafted) tree so I won't have to buy the plums next year. Ok, maybe the year after.... And a random potato decided to grow out of the middle of the lawn (we didn't put anyhting there!) so I rescued it from the mower and put it in the vege garden. Seems very happy there now, husband keeps saying it's too late but nah, I'll let it go and see. |
