| 1173731 | 2011-02-05 02:50:00 | You want two broccoli plants, then plant 4 seeds. Seed raising mix (Black magic) is best to start them off, then compost and ****. Manure that is. Blood and bone is good too. Nothing grows in winter. It may sit over winter waiting, or it may be ready in winter but nothing actually grows. |

| 1173734 | 2011-02-10 07:20:00 | Well the beans have been amazing this year, we grew purple climbers, the spare freezer is full to overflowing as well as all the ones already eaten. Oh and did I mention cucumbers SWMBO planted 5 and I'm the only one who eats them so if you want some.... | gary67 (56) | ||

One variety of Tomato I can recommend is the English variety "Sleaford Abundance", they are a dwarf bush , grow about 2 ft high, but one gets a good bucket full off the plant over a summer. Fruit about the same size as Moneymaker. They were quite heavy croppers in even an indifferent Yorkshire summer, so they would grow well in NZ as an early tomato. Seeds available in the UK from Dobies. Don't know if they are available in NZ |
