| 1173593 | 2011-01-30 05:21:00 | The only reason for the change is increased profit. Which is fine, thats their reason for being after all, I personally choose not to list anything with them anymore and haven't done so for awhile, I may try sella next time I want to offload some gear. |

If their site has increased 90% in a few years, then they would be making more of a profit without needing to increase fees, as they charge a percentage. The recession has meant that more people are selling things they don't need, so they are benefiting from that. If anything I would expect the percentage to go down, buit how often does that happen. However they do have to deal with inflation and the GST rise. Looked at the seller website, and it looks very trademe like, with it's menus and layout. |

Fairfax are not noted for charging a cent less than the market will bear, and unless users vacate the place in significant numbers, the next increase will be already in the pipeline. (Not counting the Feb one, they have doubtless already had the party for that one.) They are not in the business of selling to the lowest bidder, perhaps it is just that they paid a stupidly high price for TradeMe and now it is our turn. |

What idiots would buy a printed telephone directory when the whole world is going to line directories and Google ? |

I thought **** them. Good on you, and then then suck you in by forcing you to advertise in 3 or 4 categories. Computers, Computer Hardware, Computer Services, Computer Software etc. Years ago people did use them a lot. I am not so sure now, I know I have only picked mine up 2 or 3 times in the last year or so. |
