BLURB:: With Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in danger of being toppled by waves of street protests, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday urged “a peaceful, orderly transition to a democratic regime,” but refused to engage in speculation about possible U.S. sanctuary for Mubarak if he were driven into exile. Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press, Clinton told NBC’s David Gregory the central issue was not whether Mubarak was taking the necessary steps to salvage his 30-year rule, but whether he would respond to “the legitimate needs and grievances expressed by the Egyptian people and chart a new path.” If Egypt goes Radical, then Yemen, Jordan and other countries in the region will fall pall-mall into the same pot. |

Thus far in all the news reports there has been no mention of any movement towards Islamism or a greater anti Israeli position by those people demonstrating. Egypt sounds even more liberal than Turkey in terms of sticking to a democratic secular state. |

Since OPEC demands gold and not paper money, the US is slowly selling short after having bought long and this is all the plan to bring the US economy to it's bend-over, kneeling position awaiting the head chopper . Sure - oil is important and the resultant strangling of US oil drilling and all the Eco-stuff about it, perhaps they thought it was a good idea to use up OPEC's supplies and then go after Mexico's - but the Mexican Oil situation fell apart when the US tried to get Mexico into bed and siphon off their state-owned oil reserves . Mexico's Presidente Fox was going for it - but the rest of the cabinet in Mexico wasn't . They offered instead the Mexican coal fields - but their coal is below third rate for extremely high sulfur content and would require more money to make it viable than it could be sold for . Until now, that is . The US gasoline is being kicked around as going to a new-record high of $5 . 00/gallon and that will force a review of alternate energy sources . Coal, at least liquefied coal is a very good option and as soon as the oil fields get somewhat more consumed, then it's hell's bells for using it - especially in the cold season . Forgetting the personal spin here, look a little more globally - something that most US'ers are accused of NOT doing or even being cognizant of - and the picture changes to a global proxy-fight with everyone suffering if the US dollar gets hacked much more . NZ will not be exempt of this deteriorating situation - like it or not . |

Throw in Israel and it keeps them all busy, thus allowing oil to be siphoned off without any hassles . I don't see it that way - and not from US schools and propaganda . If the Ottoman Empire had remained, it would have had a lot more solidarity and be a lot easier to handle than a bunch of autonomous rag-tag empires and quasi-dictatorships to control like rats in a bag . |
