1207412 2011-06-07 00:26:00 Was just looking through my start-ups (Vista Home Premium) when I noticed Widgi Toolbar, which I haven't come across before.

A search thru Google suggests that it's maybe not a very good thing to have. However, the top Google hits on this item, although on seemingly different websites, seem to have been all written by the same person. Which made me rather wonder ...

Anyway, just checking if anyone here has much info on Widgi, and particularly on how to best remove it.

Like, are these suggestions good advice?

Remove Widgi Toolbar manually
Another method to remove Widgi Toolbar is to manually delete Widgi Toolbar files in your system. Detect and remove the following Widgi Toolbar files:
Registry Keys
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{2DC9C611-D7C2-42A3-9312-BFF512812022} "(Default)" = "IWidgiToolbarHost"
KEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{C3ABD5A3-E699-4B9F-97FF-25B121A41276 "(Default)" = "IWidgiBHO"
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{C089D5FC-CFE2-4BCD-A522-2981448227CE}

I'm mainly using MSE for anti-badware, although reasonably frequently scan with MacAfee, Malwarebytes and CCleaner. None to date has said anything about this Widgi. Nor can I find any reference to it when using Search in the PressF1 forum.
