1207245 2011-06-06 03:55:00 Question for all the server administrators out there.
I am looking for a good program that will monitor a server remotely and notify me of any errors with it.
Any recommendations?

1207246 2011-06-06 11:08:00 We use Naverisk for our clients who are on a contract with us but if you only need to monitor one server then it's probably not cost effective.

1207251 2011-06-06 23:31:00 Nagios for windows?Depends what you're trying to monitor - it can certainly keep an eye on network-facing services for you. I'm not sure about local stuff though; I don't know if there is a Windows client available, or if there is, how good it is - all my experience with it has been on Linux systems. Erayd (23)

1207253 2011-06-07 00:50:00 I've used NagiOS multiple times in the past and it worked great. I use Cacti now with the thold (Threshold) plugin, coz now I get graphs for trends etc.

Works well with both windows, linux & routers / switches :)

Haven't got an invoice in front of me but from memory it's $150 per month and that includes 5 server agents.
Then extra agents cost $3 for a workstation per month and $10 for a server per month.
This is for their cloud hosted service.
They also have the option of you hosting your own server for your agents.
